On a night with more than 400 Eastern Illinois supporters and alumni in attendance, the Evening With Champions was a huge success as former Panther football players Mike Shanahan, Sean Payton, Tony Romo and Jimmy Garoppolo returned to campus together for the first time as a group to entertain the crowd with stories and raise money for EIU Athletics.
 
EIU would like to say Thank You to all that attended the events over the weekend with special thanks to the Premier and Presenting Sponsors of the Evening With Champions – PSI General Contractor, EIU Alumni Association and Drake Homes.  EIU would also like to thank the following sponsors for their support of two events on Friday evening in Effingham - Dr. Rick Workman, WMG Development, Heartland Dental, Koerner Distributor, J&J Gaming and Midland States Bank.  Another thank you to Steve & Mary Drake and Drake Homes for their support of a Saturday afternoon event.  A final special thanks to the McGrady Inn (Adam & Karen Fifield) and Pilson Auto Group (Jamie & Chris Pilson) for their additional support during the Weekend of Champions.  Thank you again to all of our weekend sponsors (listed below).
