CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Eastern Illinois volleyball team took on Illinois State in an exhibition match on Saturday evening in front of an electric home crowd inside Groniger Arena. The in-state rivals played a full five sets, including a thrilling 33-31 battle in set two.

The Panthers gave fans a lot to look forward to with some stellar performances from returners and former all-conference selections Kaitlyn Flynn and Catalina Rochaix, while a stable of new faces introduced themselves to the EIU faithful with strong outings of their own.

EIU will now turn their attention to the regular season opener against nationally ranked #24 Marquette. The NCAA Tournament rematch in set for Friday, August 30th at 6 p.m. inside Groniger Arena.
