Abby Reinl scored in the final 12 minutes of the match for the equalizer on Sunday afternoon as Eastern Illinois played to a 1-1 draw at Southern Indiana. It was the Panthers second straight draw in OVC play to secure points in the league standings.
Southern Indiana jumped ahead in the first half with a goal by Emma Schut in the 38th minute.
Reinl would find the back of the net in the 78th minute for what proved to be the equalizer on an assist from
Kya Trejo. It was the third goal of the season for Reinl and her second in OVC play.
The Panthers had two total shots on goal for the match, the other coming from
Carys Grieve.
Ella Kratochvil made five saves for EIU in her second match in goal this season. Kratochvil posted a clean sheet on Thursday during a 0-0 draw with Lindenwood.
EIU is now 2-5-5 on the season, 0-1-2 in the OVC. USI moved to 2-6-4 overall, 1-0-2 in the OVC.
