Eastern Illinois Athletics wrapped up its Hall of Fame weekend inducting nine historic teams into the Panthers Hall of Fame.
 
Inducted on Friday evening at Groniger Arena were six men's national championship teams and three successful AIAW era women's teams.   The teams were then honored again during the EIU football game on Saturday afternoon against Lindenwood.
 
The teams inducted included the 1968 Cross Country National Champions, 1969 Cross Country National Champions, 1969 Soccer National Champions, 1974 Outdoor Track National Champions, 1977 Cross Country National Champions, 1978 Football National Champions, 1980 Volleyball AIAW National Tournament, 1981 Basketball AIAW National Tournament Elite Eight and 1982 Softball AIAW World Series (3rd place) team.
