Box Score

The Eastern Illinois mens soccer team came up short 0-1 in their first road match of the 2024 season to the Evansville Aces on Wednesday night at McCutchen Field.

The EIU offense showed life early in the contest as freshman Adam Boykin was able to place a shot on goal in the first minutes of the game. The Panthers had another great look later in the half as Sam Eccles narrowly missed the crossbar off a header in the middle of the box.

Senior Kyce Toutanji earned his first start of the 2024 season, recording five first half saves as the Panthers and Aces went into half tied 0-0. Toutanji finished the night at the forefront of the EIU defense, logging a career high total of 10 saves.

The Aces found success coming out of halftime as Kai Phillip was able to punch in a redirected Toutanji save to put Evansville up 1-0 in the 47' minute. The Panthers did their best to respond quickly as Sebastian Khoury put a shot off cross bar in the 54' minute, but EIU failed to capatalize.

Junior Ben Martin picked up the Panthers first red card of the season in the 84' minute. The Aces went on to close out the game, finishing the night with 29 shots.
