Chris Wilkerson has announced the addition of Mason Keeler to the Panthers coaching staff for the upcoming season.

Keeler will serve as the Panthers tight ends coach with
Cole Hoover sliding over to coach the EIU offensive line.

Keeler returns to EIU where he worked as a special teams quality control coach for the latter portion of the 2023 season after coaching in Europe during the opening part of the season. Keeler helped with all aspects of the EIU special teams as the Panthers posted an 8-3 record for the season.

This past season he worked as the special teams coach and safeties coach at McKendree University. The defense led the GLVC in interceptions ranking 16th in the NCAA Division II ranks.

In the early portion of 2023 Keeler worked with the Wroclaw Panthers in Europe serving as the special teams coordinator, tight ends and running backs coach. The team posted an 8-5 record making the ELF playoffs. The special teams unit featured the number two overall punter and number two overall kicker in the league while blocking six kicks and one punt during the season.

He played football at Wyoming for two years helping the team win the 2017 Idaho Potato Bowl as a tight end / fullback. He suffered a career ending injury in 2018 leading to him finishing his time at Wyoming as a student assistant coach from 2018 to 2020. He was a graduate assistant for the 2021 season assisting with offense and special teams. The team would win two more bowl games while he was on staff.Â

During the 2022 season he coached linebackers at Seton Hill University helping coach the number one tackler in NCAA Division II and the 11th overall ranked defense.Â

Keeler is a 2020 graduate of the University of Wyoming with graduate level work at both Wyoming and Seton Hill.
