Eastern Illinois men's tennis played its third match of the season over the last two days as the Panthers lost on Sunday evening 6-1 at Illinois State.
EIU opened the match winning the doubles point with wins at No. 1and No. 2 doubles.Â
Alex Aldaz and
Pieke Bouman opened with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. EIU then clinched the overall doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles by
Zach White and
Ludolph Wiggett.
The No. 3 doubles match was left unfinished tied at 4-4 with
Tyler Carlin and
Duarte Trocado playing at that position.
In singles play Illinois State was able to capture all six matches with two of the six going to three sets.
Bouman lost at No. 2 singles to Adrian Dibildox 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
Carlin lost at No. 4 singles to Jett Leong 6-2, 6-7, 10-6.
EIU falls to 0-3 on the season after a pair of losses yesterday at Texas Tech.
