GAME 21
Eastern Illinois suffered its first conference loss of the season on Thursday night as the Panthers had their ten game win streak snapped with a 62-52 defeat on the road at Western Illinois.  EIU's 10-0 start to OVC play had been the Panthers third best start to a conference season in program history.  The Panthers hold a one-game lead in the OVC standings at 13-7 overall, 10-1 in the OVC.  Lindenwood is one of the two teams just one game back as the Lions are riding a four-game win streak standing at 13-7 overall, 9-2 in the OVC.

ANOTHER OVC AWARD FOR MCGLONE
Macy McGlone helped carry Eastern Illinois to its win last Saturday with 22 points and 16 rebounds after scoring 20 points in EIU's 100-point game against Morehead State.  Earlier this week she was awarded her second straight Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week award and fifth award this season.  She averaged 21 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game for the week while shooting 61 percent from the field.    She scored 16 points on Thursday night at Western Illinois continuing her ascent up the EIU career charts in all three categories moving up to 15th in scoring (1,317 pts), fourth in rebounding (820) and third in blocks (142).  She already owns EIU's single season (26) and career records for doubles-doubles (41) ranking ninth in the NCAA this season with 11 double-doubles.  McGlone's pair of 20-point games this past week gave her 26 for her EIU career.  She has four career 30-point games with a high of 33 against Morehead State (2/10/2024).

EIU CONTINUES TO PICK UP STEALS
Eastern Illinois finished with 14 steals while forcing 17 Western Illinois turnovers in Thursday's game as the Panthers had 14 points scored off of turnovers.  It marked the third straight game that EIU has had double figure steals in a game and the 12th time that has occurred this season.  EIU's season high for steals in a game is 19 against Indiana State.  For the year the Panthers are averaging 10.4 steals per game which ranks fourth in the OVC. EIU's steals came by committee with seven different players collecting a least one steal.  Ella Lune led the team with four steals followed by Lalani Ellis with three.  Kiyley Flowers and Alex Rouse had two steals each to round out the Panthers with multiple steals in the game.
