Set One: EIU continues the winning streak after a dominating performance to start one. The Panthers led 15-8 after Tori Mohesky and Katie Kopshever recorded multiple kills in a row. After the media timeout, Kopshever recorded a kill and one of 13 service aces for the Panthers to force a UT Martin timeout. After the break into the action, UT Martin scored four straight points to cut the deficit to five. The Skyhawks continued their comeback, scoring four straight points once again, forcing a late EIU timeout. The Panthers used the timeout to recharge and hold on, closing out set one, 25-20.
Set Two: Set two was all Eastern Illinois, leading 10-4. After an early timeout by UT Martin, the Panthers went on a 5-0 scoring run. The Skyhawks used their second and final timeout of the set in hopes of stopping the bleeding. The break in the action did not faze EIU, as the Panthers extended their lead to 18-5. The defense held strong, winning set two 25-15.
Set Three: The Panthers, looking to close out the match, were in the first tight battle of the evening with the score tied at 10 apiece. The set moves along with little separation heading into the media timeout with a small lead for EIU, 15-13. Eastern Illinois held their largest lead, which was 17-14. After the quick burst, UT Martin used a timeout to avoid any danger. Shortly after, EIU forced the Skyhawks to use another timeout; however, the Panthers led by only two points. UT Martin tied the set at 20, threatening to steal set three. However, EIU fueled a 3-0 scoring run and closed it out on a Katie Kopshever kill and service ace.
