Eastern Illinois returns home to Groniger Arena as the Panthers are coming off a week of games at Notre Dame and Kentucky. The Panthers play host to Tiffin in the second home game of the season and the first of three against lower division opponents this season.  EIU is 1-3 on the season. Tiffin enters at 1-1 on the year after splitting their opening week of games last week with both contests at home. EIU is 1-0 at home this season following a win over Nicholls (65-57) as part of the BBN United Tipoff Classic.Â
McMORRIS SHINES AT KENTUCKY
Terry McMorris scored in double figures for the second time this season as the sophomore scored a season high 18 points last Friday at No. 8 Kentucky. McMorris was 5-of-10 from the floor but did make ten trips to the free throw line in the game. Last season he posted season highs of five points and five rebounds seeing most of his playing time in the final couple of weeks of OVC play. McMorris opened this season with a double-double at Valparaiso (11 pts / 11 reb) and just missed a second one against Nicholls (9 pts / 11 reb). At Kentucky he added three blocks as McMorris ranks in the OVC top ten in rebounding, blocks and free throw percentage. He is shooting 81.8 percent from the line this season with his 22 attempts ranking third in the OVC.
AUSTIN CONNECTS FROM DOWNTOWN
Last season while playing at Des Moines Area CC,
Andrew Austin connected for 39.1 percent from 3-point range including a breakout game of 8-of-12 from 3-point range in the Region II semifinals. On Friday at Kentucky Austin showed that solid shooting touch scoring 13 points off the bench as he went 3-of-6 from 3-point range while going 4-of-8 from the floor. Austin made his first 3-pointer of the season in the home win over Nicholls scoring five points. He was held scoreless in the games with Valparaiso and Notre Dame. Early this season Austin is shooting 30.8 percent from long range. Â
