Eastern Illinois women's basketball head coach
Marqus McGlothan has announced the signing of two players during the NCAA's November signing period that will join next season's roster.
Set to join the Panthers are Alahnna Simpson and Dalia Grandberry.
"Both players will bring length and athleticism to our team. Excited about Alahnna's versatility in our guard position. She can defend and is about 200 points away from being the all-time leading scorer in her school history. Dalia will add depth to our post position as a defender and rebounder. She's been a three sport athlete for four years, so I'm excited about the leaps she can take since she will be able to dedicate all her time to basketball," said McGlothan. "I think both players have a high ceiling and I'm excited to get them on campus and start developing them. Both are exceptional young women who fit the culture we've instilled here."
Simpson is a 6'0 guard from La Crosse, Wisconsin that plays at La Crosse Central High School. She has been a three-time All-Region selection and a three-time first team All-Mississippi Valley Conference selection. She has added 655 rebounds, 260 assists, 250 steals and 113 blocks entering her senior year of basketball. Simpson is ranked the No. 11 prospect in the state of Wisconsin by PrepGirlsHoops.
Grandberry is a 6'3" post player from Arlington Heights, Illinois that plays at Rolling Meadows High School. She helped lead both her basketball and volleyball teams to Regional Championships as a junior earning Daily Herald All-Area honorable mention.
