Clara Glad and
Ava Stoller both scored in double figures for Eastern Illinois on Thursday night, but a cold shooting third quarter hurt the Panthers in an 83-55 loss to North Dakota State at Groniger Arena.
Stoller carried the Panthers in the opening quarter with a pair of 3-pointers eventually finishing the game with ten points. Stoller went 2-of-3 from 3-point range.
The Bison built a 21-10 lead in the opening quarter shooting 63.6 percent in the opening ten minutes. EIU played NDSU even in the second quarter trailing 38-27 at the half.
In the third quarter EIU went just 4-of-14 from the floor as the Bison again had a strong shooting quarter going 9-of-13 from the floor as they outscored EIU 28-8 in the quarter. Avery Koenen was a big part of the NDSU offense with 22 points and 16 rebounds.
Glad helped carry the Panthers in the fourth quarter finishing as EIU's leading scorer in the game with 16 points including a 7-of-7 night at the free throw line.
EIU fell to 1-9 on the season.
Nyah Hardy scored nine points off the bench with
Abbie Boutilier pulling down seven rebounds.
Karrington Asp (16 pts) and Marisa Frost (14 pts) joined Koenen in double figures as NDSU improved to 8-2.
