Macy McGlone picked up her fourth foul of the game with 7:12 remaining in the game and Eastern Illinois holding a 52-50 lead. Tennessee Tech took advantage closing the game with 13-2 run to close the game and beat the Panthers 65-54.
The win moved Tennessee Tech into first-place in the OVC standings, one game ahead of EIU. TTU improved to 18-5 overall, 12-2 in the OVC. EIU fell to 14-9 overall, 11-3 in the OVC.
TTU led 50-56 after three quarters of play. EIU opened the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run with back-to-back lay-ups by
Kiyley Flowers and a put-back basket by McGlone to lead 52-50.
With McGlone picking up the foul, TTU went inside with the play of Anna Walker who scored five straight to give TTU a 56-52 lead with 4:58 remaining in the game. Walker finished with 21 points to lead TTU.
EIU led 19-15 after the first quarter of play and had balanced scoring at the half with three players with eight points.
TTU led 40-33 at the half with EIU's defense holding the Golden Eagles off the scoreboard for the first six minutes of the third quarter closing to 46-46 with 1:51 to play in the quarter on a McGlone three point play.
McGlone led EIU with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Flowers finished with 12 points and
Sydney-James Desroches added ten.
