Eastern Illinois won its OVC opening weekend series at Lindenwood and then on Monday (March 10) swept the OVC's weekly softball awards.  Kendall Grover was named the OVC Player of the Week with McKenzie Oslanzi named the Pitcher of the Week.
 
Grover had a monster weekend at the plate hitting three home runs with a double and six RBI.  She scored six runs and did not strike out in 11 plate appearances with an on-base percentage of .818.  Her weekend slugging percentage was 2.333.  In Sunday's game Grover was walked in all four plate appearances including drawing two intentional walks during the 5-0 win.   This is her second OVC Player of the Week award this season.
 
Oslanzi appeared in all three games over the weekend tossing a pair of series bookend complete game shutouts.  She picked up an 11-0 win on Saturday and a 5-0 win on Sunday posting a 0.00 ERA for the weekend.  Oslanzi did allow an unearned run in relief in the second game of the series suffering one loss.  She struck out nine for the weekend holding Lindenwood batters to a .136 batting average.
