Eastern Illinois men's basketball head coach
Marty Simmons has announced the addition of transfer center Nazareth Fisher as the Panthers begin to build the 2025-26 roster.
Â
Fisher (6'10, 220) played the last two seasons at Point Park University in Pittsburgh helping the program transition from NAIA to the NCAA Division II ranks this season. This past year he was dominant averaging a double-double with 11.3 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 59.8 percent from the floor. Fisher posted 14 double-doubles with a season-high 35 points against Salem (W.Va.) and a season-high 25 rebounds against Wheeling. Fisher added 40 blocks on the defensive end of the floor as the team advanced to the Mountain East Conference Tournament in their first year.Â
Â
"Nazareth is a long, athletic player that has a knack for finding the ball as a rebounder on both ends of the floor," said Simmons. "He is a great rim protector and continues to improve his offensive production as a college player. He will provide us with some size in the post that we were lacking last season. We look forward to him joining our Panther Basketball Family."
Â
Fisher averaged 6.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game during his first season at Point Park shooting 63 percent from the field as the team won 31 games during its last season at the NAIA level. He began his collegiate career playing two seasons at NCAA Division III St. Mary's College in Maryland. A native of Washington, D.C., Fisher attended Washington Latin Public Charter as a prep athlete where he lettered in basketball, wrestling and soccer.
Â
Fisher joins incoming high school players Luke Beickman (6'2", 180, G, Owensboro, Ky.) and Markus Blackwell (6'1", 180, G, Detroit, Mich.) as part of the Panthers 2025-26 class.
