Eastern Illinois quarterback
Cole LaCrue rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns in last Thursday's game against Dayton as the Panthers picked up a season opening 24-14 win over the Flyers.
Â
The 193 yards rushing was the most by an EIU quarterback in a game breaking the previous mark of 142 set by Jalen Whitlow in 2015 against UT Martin.
Â
On Monday, LaCrue was named an honorable mention selection for FCS Stats Perform National Offensive Player of the Week. LaCrue was one of four honorable mention selections for the award won by Gardner-Webb quarterback Nate Hampton, who also won the OVC-Big South Offensive Player of the Week for the opening week.
Â
The 193 rushing yards by LaCrue are currently the most in a single game in Division I football this season. The next closest FCS player is Joshua Dye of Southern Utah with 180 while the top FBS effort was by Tae Meadows of Troy with 186 yards.

EIU travels to Indiana State this weekend for a 12 pm (CT) kick in Terre Haute.
