Lilli Amettis was named the Saluki Bash Tournament MVP for her impressive play this weekend. EIU went 3-0, beating Kansas City, New Mexico State, and Southern Illinois to remain undefeated to start the 2025 season. The senior from Forsyth, Illinois, competed in 11 sets, totaling 38 kills, 7 blocks, and 41 digs.

Prior to the season starting, Amettis was named a 2025 OVC player to watch for the 2025 season. In the same preseason release, EIU was picked to finish 8th in conference play. The Panthers will be back in action next weekend at the Indiana State Sycamore Classic for a three-match weekend.
