Ella Kratochvil posted her eighth career shutout moving into seventh place on Eastern Illinois career list for shutouts as the Panthers collected a big road win on Sunday afternoon. EIU beat Purdue Fort Wayne, 2-0.
Ella Dwyer scored what proved to be the match winner for the Panthers finding the back of the net in the 38th minute on an assist from
Amelia Mundo.
EIU's goal stood up for most of the match before
Abby Reinl scored for the fourth time this season in the closing minutes for the Panthers insurance goal.
The Panthers registered ten total shots in the match with Reinl firing off four of those with the last one finding the net in the 89th minute.
EIU's defense limited Purdue Fort Wayne to just two shots on goal with Kratochvil turned away for the clean sheet.
With the win EIU improved to 3-4-1 on the season.
Purdue Fort Wayne dropped to 1-4-1 on the year.
