Little Rock had its best offensive stretch in the final minutes of the game ending on a 16-0 run as the Trojans snapped Eastern Illinois three game win streak with a 74-63 win on Thursday night.
EIU led 37-30 at the half getting balanced first half scoring with
Zion Fruster scoring nine of his team high 14 in the first half.
The Panthers held the lead for a good portion of the game with Little Rock taking its first lead with 15:04 to play in the second on a Johnathan Lawson 3-pointer.Â
Kooper Jacobi answered with a 3-pointer and the Panthers kept the lead until the 3:27 mark of the game. Jacobi had 11 points joining Fruster in double figures for EIU.
Little Rock tied the game at 63-63 on a 3-pointer by Kachi Nzeh with 3:27 as Nzeh hit his final three 3-point attempts finishing with 17 points.
Lawson connected for another 3-pointer with 56 seconds left that gave the Trojans the lead for good. Lawson had 15 points as all five Little Rock starters scored in double figures.
EIU was held scoreless for the final 5:37 of the game falling to 7-11 overall, 4-4 in the OVC.Â
Nazareth Fisher had eight points, eight rebounds.Â
Little Rock improved to 8-10 overall, 5-2 in the OVC.
