Chris Wilkerson has announced the hiring of Shaun Wick as the Panthers new running backs coach. Wick will also serve as the Panthers recruiting coordinator.

Wick comes to Charleston following two seasons on the staff at New Mexico State where he served as an offensive analyst / assistant running backs & wide receivers coach. During his two year stint with the Aggies, he helped coach two second team All-Conference USA running backs in Seth McGowan and Mike Washington along with one second team All-Conference USA wide receiver in Donovan Faupel.

Prior to his time at New Mexico State, Wick worked for one season at Ventura Community College as the running backs coach with the school producing the school's first 1,000 yard duo in school history as the team averaged 227.2 yards per game on the ground.  He began his collegiate coaching career with two years at Moorpark Community College as the running backs coach. He helped coach the team to its first winning season (7-4) and bowl appearance in five years.

Wick played college football at Wyoming earning his bachelor's degree in 2017. He was twice named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List in 2014 and 2015 while earning honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference honors in 2013 and 2014. Wick ranks seventh on the Cowboys all-time rushing yards list and eighth on the career rushing touchdowns list.  Following his time at Wyoming, Wick played three seasons in the Canadian Football League with the BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos.
