GAME 2
Eastern Illinois continues its season opening week run through the Hawkeye State as the Panthers visit Iowa for the first time on Thursday night.  The Panthers opened the season on Tuesday night with a loss at Drake and play at No. 10 Iowa on Thursday before closing out the season opening trip on Sunday at Iowa State.  The Hawkeyes won their season opener on Monday evening with a win over Towson.  This is the first meeting between the two schools and first of three Big Ten Conference opponents EIU will face this season.

HARDY PROVIDES A SPARK OFF THE BENCH
As a freshman Nyah Hardy led her junior college conference in 3-point field goal shooting percentage.  Last season during her first year at EIU, Hardy connected at 26.2 percent knocking down 22-of-82 from long range.  In Tuesday's opener at Drake the junior provided a second half spark off the bench knocking down 3-of-5 from long range and 5-of-10 from the floor to finish with a team high 15 points.  It was Hardy's fourth double figure game at EIU with a season high of 16 coming last season at No. 22 Michigan State.

BOHANON WITH DOUBLE FIGURES IN THE OPENER
Janyah Bohanon played her first three collegiate seasons at Howard and Buffalo before transferring to Eastern Illinois this season.  In the opener on Tuesday night the senior knocked down her first three shots of the game finishing the night 5-of-10 from the floor with ten points.  It was the tenth career double figure scoring game for Bohanon whose career high of 14 points came against North Carolina Central during her freshman season.  She added three blocks, two assists, one rebound and one steal to her totals for the night

BLOCK PARTY IN THE OPENER
Eastern Illinois welcomed back one of the tallest players in college women's basketball as Abbie Boutilier returned to the line-up on Tuesday against Drake.  Boutilier (6'10") suffered a season ending injury just before the holiday break last year but had been leading the OVC in blocked shots with 25 prior to the injury.  In the opener she was one of three Panthers players to record multiple blocked shots as EIU finished with eight blocks as a team.  Last season EIU led the OVC in blocked shots finishing the year with 110 blocks, a total that ranked as the eighth most in school history.  Janyah Bohanon led EIU in the game with three blocks, Meioshe Mason had two.
