Conference to honor former stand out players for 11th season

For the 11th time the Ohio Valley Conference will recognize men's and women's basketball legends from each of its member institutions during the OVC Basketball Tournament.

The legends will be recognized through video board recognition and P.A. announcements during the event.

With roots dating back to 1948, the OVC and its member institutions have produced many outstanding student-athletes who have earned numerous accolades and led their respective schools to success on the hardwood.

In total five male and six female student-athletes will be honored.

Eastern Illinois - Sabina Oroszova (2011-15)
A two-time All-OVC selection, Oroszova scored 1,279 points and grabbed 960 rebounds during her four-year EIU career, where she played in 121 total contests (starting 98). She averaged a double-double as both a junior (16.9 points and 10.6 rebounds) and senior (15.7 points and 10.1 rebounds). She finished her career with 184 blocks, which ranked second on the Panthers career list. As a senior she tied the EIU single-game record with six blocks on three different occasions and posted 16 double-doubles (and 34 for her career). As a junior she scored 38 points against Bradley, a mark that is tied for the EIU single-game record. More on Oroszova.

Lindenwood - TJ Crockett (2017-21)
Crockett capped his Lindenwood career by being named a second-team All-American following the 2020-21 season. That season he ranked third nationally with a 27.5 points per game average. Crockett connected on 142 free throws during the year, which ranked second nationally. He participated in the 2021 State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship (winning the "Dark Horse Dunker Fan Vote") and took second-place at the event. He earned All-Conference honors as a junior (2019-20) when he averaged 21.3 points and 4.9 rebounds/game. Crockett finished his career with 1,441 points scored over 105 games. More on Crockett.

Little Rock - Josh Hagins (2012-16)
Hagins earned a pair of All-Conference honors during his career and finished his career ranked third in Little Rock history in scoring (1,475), assists (468) and steals (179) while also ranked fifth in 3-pointers made (175) and field goals made (525). He played in 128 games, the most in Trojans program history. He capped his career with a memorable game as Little Rock upset No. 5 seed Purdue in double overtime of the NCAA Tournament. In that game he hit a 27-foo 3-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation to force overtime and finished the game with 30 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals, at the time becoming the first player in NCAA Tournament history to achieve a 30-5-5-5 stat line.  More on Hagins.

Morehead State - Angelo Warner (2011-15)
Warner finished his career with 1,592 points, which ranked 10th in Morehead State history, while playing in 130 career games. He also ranked third in career steals (207) and 12th in assists (299). He ranked in the Top 10 in the OVC in steals for three-straight seasons.  Warner had 84 career double-digit scoring games, and averaged 17.5 points/game in as a junior (2013-14), a mark that ranked sixth in the OVC, while earning second-team All-OVC honors. That season he helped the Eagles to a 20-win season and berth in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). As a senior he connected on 49 percent of his field goal attempts. More on Warner.

Southeast Missouri - Tarina Nixon (2005-09)
Nixon earned a pair of All-OVC honors during her career, including after her senior season when she averaged 12.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals/game over 27 contests. As a junior she finished fourth in the OVC with 59 steals (1.9/game) while also leading the SEMO team in assists (86), 3-pointers made (36) and free throw percentage (79.5%). She helped lead Southeast Missouri to the OVC regular season championship as a sophomore (16-4 record) and junior (17-3 record). She was also a member of back-to-back OVC Tournament Championship teams (2006, 2007). For her career she played in 120 games over four seasons, starting 107 of those contests. More on Nixon.

SIUE - Keil Peebles (1975-79)
Peebles finished his SIUE playing career with 1,824 points, which at the time was first in school history and which now ranks third. He does still own the school record for field goals made (750) and attempted (1,638). He played in 105 total contests for the program and his 17.4 points per game scoring average still ranks in the Top 10 in school history. As a senior he averaged 18.3 points per game, making 204 field goals. His best scoring mark came during his sophomore season when he averaged 20.3 points/game over 26 contests. More on Peebles.

Southern Indiana - Eileen Weber (1994-98)
A two-time All-American (including a first-team pick her senior season), Weber helped Southern Indiana to a 100-16 record during her collegiate playing career. She played on four-straight NCAA Division II Tournament teams (the only player in program history to accomplish that feat), including the 1997 NCAA Tournament Championship Game (where she was named to the Elite Eight All-Tournament Team). She was a four-time All-Conference pick, capping her career as the Conference Player of the Year in 1997-98. In USI history, Weber is second in career scoring (1,847), second in career field goals (705), third in career rebounds (842), and tied for fourth in career steals (188). She was selected to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in December 2025. More on Weber.

Tennessee State - Tim Horton (1991-95)
During his four-year career with the Tigers, Horton earned three All-OVC honors, including second-team selections as a sophomore and junior and a first-team nod as a senior. In 1991-92 he was named to the OVC All-Freshman Team after averaging 14.7 points and 4.2 rebounds/game over 28 contests. He helped Tennessee State to back-to-back OVC Tournament Championships (1993 and 1994), including earning All-Tournament honors in 1994. He scored 13 points in the team's 1994 NCAA Tournament game against Kentucky. For his career he averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. More on Horton.

Tennessee Tech - Emily Christian (2002-06)
Christian scored 2,314 points over her 117 career games, a mark that still ranks second in Tennessee Tech and seventh in OVC history. She also grabbed 812 rebounds and had 287 assists, 128 blocks and hit 48.8 percent from the field. Christian was named the OVC Freshman of the Year in 2002-03 and capped her career by being tabbed OVC Player of the Year in 2005-06. That season she helped the Golden Eagles to a 23-9 regular season record and 16-4 mark in OVC play. She earned nine OVC Player of the Week honors during her career and following her playing days had her No. 40 jersey retired at TTU. More on Christian.

UT Martin - Chelsey Perry (2017-21)
Perry capped her standout career by leading UT Martin to back-to-back regular season titles (2019-20, 2020-21) while earning OVC Player of the Year honors in each season. A WBCA All-American, she earned 13 Player of the Week awards during her career. She led the OVC in scoring as a junior (23.1 points/game) and senior (22.9 points/game) and during the 2019-20 season she ranked first in the country in field goals made (286) and finished second in total points scored (740). She graduated as the program's all-time leader in blocks (228) while ranking in the top-five in points (1,963), field goals made (733) and rebounds (768). She was named to the OVC's 75th Anniversary Team in the summer of 2023. After her UTM career, she was drafted 26th by the Indiana Fever in the 2021 WNBA Draft, becoming the first Skyhawk player ever selected. More on Perry.

Western Illinois - Tiffany Cornelius Tyler (2000-04)
Cornelius was named the Conference Player of the Year in 2003-04 after she averaged 14.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists/game, leading her team to a 20-9 overall and 13-3 league mark. She was a two-time first-team All-Conference selection after being an All-Newcomer selection in 2000-01. Cornelius has the second-highest single-season field goal percentage (.590 in 2002-03) and the fifth-most rebounds in program history (733). She also set a program record going 10-of-10 from the field vs. Rockford and made 21 consecutive free throws. For her career she scored 1,412 points, which ranks ninth in school history. More on Cornelius Tyler.
