Eastern Illinois took a 2-1 lead in the third inning on Sunday morning but the Panthers could not stop a big Florida A&M inning as EIU lost 9-6 in the final game of the FIU Softball Classic.
Chloe Wamboldt tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third with an RBI double to right field scoring

Marybeth Dyson later in the inning to put EIU up 2-1.
In the bottom of the third Makayla Register  connected for the big hit of the inning as the Ramblers scored seven runs in the inning including a pair of unearned scores. Register hit a three-run homer to put FAMU up 6-2 at the time.
The Panthers tacked on two unearned runs of their own in the fourth inning to cut the lead in half.Â
Maddux Marshall and Dyson scored the runs for the Panthers. Â
EIU's final runs of the game came in the seventh with a two-run homer by
Alisha Frederick.
Three FAMU players had two hits to lead the team as they took advantage of seven EIU walks. Sariah Espada picked up the win to move to 1-0.
Dyson and Wamboldt both had two hits at the top of the Panthers order to lead EIU's offense.Â
Karlie McKenzie (0-6) took the loss in the circle. Freshman
Grace Lemke tossed 3.1 innings of relief allowing one run.
EIU ends the weekend at 4-11 on the season. FAMU improved to 8-6.
