Eastern Illinois will travel to the OVC Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, to compete on Tuesday and Wednesday. The championships will be held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville. It marks the first time the event will be held at the venue after opening in 2021. This year marks the 46th overall men's indoor championship (the first was held in 1976) and the 40th overall women's indoor championship (the first was held in 1985).
Last year, the Little Rock men repeated as champions, winning by 22.5 points, while the Southeast Missouri women claimed their third-straight and 10th overall crown with a 34.5-point win.

Mason Booker placed 2nd in the 60m hurdles with a personal best of 8.53.
David Tuala placed 2nd in the 60m dash with a finals time of 7.02 seconds
Icone Logo placed 2nd in the triple jump with a score of 13.99m (45-10.75)
Ashley Wrublik placed 4th in the shot put with a score of 12.02m (39-05.25)
Macey Miller placed 6th in shot put with a score of 11.40m (27-05.00)
EIU at 2025 OVC Championship
On the men's side, the team placed 3rd with a total of 134 points, while the women placed 5th with a total of 55.5 points. The Panthers earned 10 medalists, including three first-place finishes. Daniel Lacy returns after winning the 400m dash with a time of 48.17. Abby Venhaus earned a silver medal in the long jump a season ago with a 5.81m mark. Ayden Cothern scored a bronze medal in the 200m dash with a time of 21.40. Cale Smith returns to the OVC Championships after earning a bronze medal in the mile run with a time of 4:13.43.
OVC Preseason Watch List
EIU earned five athletes on the OVC preseason watch list. Daniel Lacy, Shawn Lacy, Sam Bradbury, Brenda Torres, and Abby Venhaus were each recognized as athletes to watch in January. As a returning OVC indoor champion in the men's 400m, he was named the male athlete to watch. Shawn Lacy was also named as a male indoor track athlete to watch. Sam Bradbury was listed as the men's indoor field athlete to watch. Brenda Torres was named the women's indoor track and field female to watch. Abby Venhaus rounded out the list with being named the women's indoor field athlete to watch.
