Sophia Olman was a big part of the Panthers 4-0 record over Spring Break and on Monday was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.

Olman hit .545 for the week going 6-of-11 at the plate driving in runs in all three games of the Panthers OVC weekend sweep at SIUE. Olman had two doubles and a home run while driving in ten runs for the weekend.  The home run, the second of the year for the junior, was a grand slam. Olman posted a slugging percentage of 1.000 for the week with an on-base percentage of .688 after drawing four walks and reaching once on a hit-by-pitch.

Behind the plate Olman was perfect with 25 total putouts as EIU's pitching staff had a 3.50 ERA for the week. Olman enters this week with a five-game active hitting streak lifting her season average to .269.

As a team EIU has now won ten straight games improving to 9-0 in the OVC.  The Panthers host Bradley in a midweek doubleheader before a home weekend series with Western Illinois.
