Eastern Illinois was unable to find a rhythm, dropping both matches on Friday to start the OVC weekend in Chattanooga, Tennessee. EIU falls to 1-6 overall.
Match 1: EIU 1, Morehead State 4
Ariadna Pereles and Alanys Nieves earned the Panthers only victory in match one, beating the Eagles' 5th pair 2-0. In set one, the pair won 21-17 and then closed out their match in a 24-22 thriller.
The number one pair, Laura Paniagua and Giorgia Cappelletti, pushed the Eagles to three sets but ultimately fell short. The final scores were 21-14, 21-19, and 15-12.
Lilli Amettis and Sylvia Hasz also pushed their match to three sets but were unable to secure the win. The final scores were 21-17, 21-18, and 15-7.
Tori Mohesky and Emma Schroeder lost 21-7 and 21-11.
Katie Kopsehver and Anaya Rawlsion also fell short, losing 2-0 to the Eagles. The final scores were 25-23 and 21-14.
Match 2: EIU 0 , UT Martin 5
Four out of the five pairs lost in two sets, while Amettis and Hasz went the distance but fell short in the third set.
