EIU split their two matches on Friday to open the Austin Peay tournament. With the win and the loss, Eastern Illinois moves to a 3-9 (1-5 OVC) record.
Match 1: EIU 4, TTU 1
The Panthers earned their second win of the season against Tennessee Tech, 4-1. Coach Millar switched the expected pairs to provide a new look at the Austin Peay Tournament.
The duo that did not change, Laura Paniagua and Giorgia Cappelletti, won a three-match thriller.
Seniors Sylvia Hasz and Lilli Amettis were pushed to three sets but secured the second win of the match.
Anaya Rawlinson and Katie Kopshever fell short in their match 2-0.
Emma Schroeder and Ariadna Pereles quickly won their first-ever match played together 2-0.
Alanys Nieves and Tori Mohesky were tested but closed out their match in three sets.

EIU was unable to sweep their matches on Friday, dropping the second match 4-1 to the tournament host. Coach Millar switched the pairings once again for their match against Austin Peay.
Jorah Rutter and Paniagua dropped their match in two sets.
Amettis and Hasz also fell short, losing 2-0.
Rawlinson and Kopshever had no luck in their match, falling 2-0.
Nieves and Mohesky faced no trouble, winning their match 2-0, earning the Panthers their only match win.
