A solid showing by Eastern Illinois outdoor track and field as the Panthers wrapped up competition at the Drake Relays.

EIU had one first place finish by Maliek Bush with four additional top three finishes turned in over the three days.

Bush won the men's long jump on Saturday with a long jump mark of 24'1.75".  Shawn Lacy added a third-place finish in the javelin on Saturday with a throw of 193'4".

On Friday, the Panthers had a pair of second place finishes by the women in the triple jump and long jump.  Layla Bonilla was second in the triple jump with a jump of 39'10.75".  Abby Venhaus was second in the long jump landing at 19'4.75".

On Thursday Ashlyn Denney opened EIU's run at the Drake Relays with a second-place finish in the 800 meter run.  Denney had a time of 2:10.05 which ranks as the ninth best time in school history.

The EIU women's 4x100 relay team also posted a school top ten mark.  On Friday, the team qualified for Saturday's finals with a time of 45.54 which ranked as the second best in school history.  The quartet of Abby Venhaus, Kenyetietta Quinn, Annabelle Coudron and Analena Peterson improved on that time on Saturday finishing fifth with a time of 45.29 which is second all-time at EIU.
