2026 Spring Team Academic GPA's

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom as Panther student-athletes posted another successful semester finishing with a 3.35 grade point average for the 2026 spring semester. It marked the fourth consecutive semester that EIU student-athletes have posted a 3.3 or higher GPA
 
A total of seven teams posted a team GPA of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Softball had the highest team GPA for the fourth straight semester improving from a 3.81 fall team GPA to a 3.91 spring team GPA. Men's soccer posted the highest men's team GPA at 3.61

A total of 93 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall term with 74 percent of the department student-athletes finishing with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Additional team's with a GPA over 3.50 for the semester included women's golf (3.88), women's cross country (3.84), women's swimming (3.59), women's soccer (3.55) and women's track & field (3.55).
 
Football was just below a 3.00 with a 2.97 team GPA for the semester. 
 
The Panthers are slowly wrapping up spring competition with softball playing at the NCAA Regional in Stillwater, Oklahoma (May 15-17), outdoor track and field competing at the OVC Championships (May 15-16) and baseball playing its final regular season series before heading to the OVC Tournament next week.
