Eastern Illinois football will face Big Ten member Minnesota this season with the game to be carried nationally on the Peacock Network.
 
The two teams will meet on Thursday, September 3 at 7 p.m. in what will be the second meeting between the two schools.  Minnesota beat EIU in the 2014 season opener (42-20). 
 
This will be the Panthers 12th time facing a member of the Big Ten Conference.
 
EIU opens the regular season the previous week on Thursday, August 27, facing former OVC rival Murray State in Murray, Ky.
 
The Panthers home opener will be on Saturday, September 12 against Indiana State as part of Hall of Fame weekend at O'Brien Field.
