Former Eastern Illinois standout wide receiver Alexander Hollins will open the Canadian Football League season this week playing the 2026 season with the Montreal Alouettes.

Hollins ended the 2025 season with the franchise appearing in five late season games with eight catches for 163 yards.

This will be his fifth season in the CFL after breaking into the league in 2022 with the BC Lions.  He spent three seasons with the BC Lions before time with the Edmonton Elks and Montreal in 2025. During the 2023 season he earned CFL West Division All-Star honors with 78 receptions for 1,173 yards and nine touchdowns.

Hollins played two seasons at EIU finishing his career in 2018 with FCS All-American Honors.  He spent three seasons in the NFL with time at Minnesota and Cleveland.

Montreal is set to open the 2026 on June 4 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
