Eastern Illinois improved to 1-0-1 on the season following a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon at UIC.
Ella Kratochvil turned away six UIC shots on goal to pick up her second straight clean sheet this season. Last year's OVC Goalkeeper of the Year moved into a tie for third on the EIU career shutouts list posting her 16th career shutout on Sunday.
It marked just the third time in program history that EIU has opened a season with back-to-back shutouts. Last time was in 2022, the first time was back in 2010.
The Panthers were limited to two total shots on goal coming from
Brooklynn Greene and
Madi Watt. EIU registered a total of six shots in the match.
The match was delayed shortly after the start of competition with a weather delay. EIU did not play any players other than Kratochvil the full 90 minutes.
Casey Kittridge anchored the backline playing a team-high 77 minutes followed by
Colleen Bauer with 69 minutes and freshman
Sophie Oberheim logging 61.
UIC moved to 0-1-1 on the season. Jillian Higgins and Emmy Higgins both had two shots on goal for the Flames.
