Eastern Illinois men's soccer standout Patrick Osilaja has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week following an impressive week of play for the Panthers. 

Osilaja played a key role in helping the EIU defense turn in a strong performance, providing a physical presence and helping the Panthers limit opportunities in the backfield. His efforts earned him the conference's weekly defensive honor. Osilaja along with his teammate Adam Boykin each recorded one shot on goal as well against Wright State.  

The recognition marks the latest weekly accolade for Osilaja and highlights his importance to an Eastern Illinois squad that continues to build momentum early in the season. 

Osilaja and the Panthers will return to action on September 5th, when EIU hosts Northern Illinois University at Lakeside Field. The match is scheduled for 3PM.
