ROMAIN MARTIN’S COLLEGIATE CAREER
SOPHOMORE (2007-08): Appeared in 17 games making 14 starts... led team in scoring at 13.6 points per game going for double figures in 12 of first 13 games... ranked among nation's leaders in 3-pointers made and 3-point percentage when sidelined with a bone spur in his tendon... averaging 22.3 points per game in OVC action prior to injury and 17.8 ppg in all contests... attempted to come back in four games after injury but scored just seven points in those contests... season high 29 points at Morehead State as he scored 20-plus in five straight games in December... led team with 44 3-pointers despite not playing in 12 games.
FRESHMAN (2006-07): Appeared in 29 games with 23 starts... named OVC co-Freshman of the Year and to OVC All-Newcomer team... became first freshman to lead EIU in scoring in the NCAA Division I era with 14.8 points per game... one of 23 freshman at the NCAA Division I level to lead their teams in scoring... ranked seventh in OVC in scoring, first in free throw percentage (86.7) and seventh in 3-point field goal percentage (38.0)... scored in double figures in 22 of 29 games including 20 or more points in eight games... season high 27 point at Tennessee Tech... named OVC Freshman of the Week five times.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters in basketball at North High... averaged 18.6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game as a senior... McDonald’s All-American nominee... third team All-Metro... honorable mention All-State... team MVP... candidate for Minnesota Mr. Basketball award... named first team Minneapolis City Conference as a junior and senior... MCC co-MVP as a senior...averaged 13 points a game as a junior...also played for Howard Pulley Panthers AAU team.
