Biography

2009: Defensive MVP of the Aces Soccer Classic… Zumski started all 17 games, the only Panther to do so… led the team in minutes played, logging 1,567 of the 1,590 minutes… went the distance in every game except the road game at Creighton… played the first 985 minutes of the season consecutively before not starting the second half at Creighton… named the Defensive MVP of the Evansville’s tournament after the Panthers surrendered only one goal in 200 minutes that weekend… helped EIU post seven shutouts, one shy of the program record in the Valley era, and a 356 consecutive scoreless minutes streak at Lakeside Field.

PREVIOUS COLLEGE:
Zumski played his first two collegiate seasons at Saint Joseph’s College, an NCAA Division II school located in Rensselaer, Ind., that competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference… earned Second Team All-Region honors in 2008 after starting all 20 games and scoring four goals… transferred to EIU at the 2009 semester break and participated in the spring season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Kyle was a three-year varsity letter-winner for coach Scott Steib… two-time All-Mid-Suburban League selection as an upperclassman… helped lead BHS to a 2004 conference title.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was scoring four goals against Fremd High School as a junior… his father has been a major influence on his sports career because “he always pushed me to be my best no matter what”… most admires coach Steib because “he made me mentally tough”… son of Bob and Patricia ZumskiMAJOR: Kinesiology and Sports Studies.
