Biography

2007: First Team All-OVCOVC All-Tournament Team… Hayes started all 19 games she played in… ranked third on the team in minutes played, going the distance eight times… scored the game-winning goal in EIU’s most impressive non-conference victory of the year, a 1-0 win against Mid-American Conference champion Ball State… that score was selected as the team’s goal of the year by her teammates… headed in a corner kick a week later against Western Illinois to give the Panthers a halftime lead… registered her first collegiate assist on Kaitlin Sullivan’s goal against Tennessee Tech… recorded a shot in 11 straight games during the hear of the season… played all 186 minutes of the two OVC Tournament games to earn her second career OVC All-Tournament honor… cemented her reputation as one of the top all-around central midfielders in program history… Eastern posted a 6-0-1 record when she scored during her career.

2006: Hayes played in 14 games and started 12 matches… after suffering an injury midway through the conference season, returned for the OVC Tournament, starting the semifinal match against Morehead State… not able to convert on penalty kick opportunity against Murray State… team's top slide tackler from her central midfielder position… tallied a season-high three shots against Bowling Green… EIU is 5-0 when she has scored a goal during her career.

2005: Second Team All-OVC... OVC All-Tournament Team... Hayes started all 21 games… second on the team with four goals, three of which came in OVC play… also tied for second on the team with two game-winners… scored the game-winner in overtime as EIU won 1-0 at Tennessee-Martin… became the first EIU player to score an overtime goal since Michelle Steinhaus in the 2004 regular-season finale… scored her first career game-winner earlier in the season at Eastern Kentucky… scored on a penalty kick against Tennessee Tech, EIU’s first OVC goal of the year… also scored in the season-opening win against North Texas.

2004: Played in all 21 matches and started five, including the first three matches of the season and OVC road contests at Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech… scored her first collegiate goal in victory against Tennessee-Martin… 15 shots, seven on goal.

HIGH SCHOOL: She was a four-year letter-winner for coach J.J. Crawford at Maine South... also lettered three times in tennis and twice in basketball... three-time all-conference and all-sectional honoree... team captain... four-year scholar athlete... on the club circuit she led the FC Soccers to a runner-up national finish in Dallas... also played for FC Barrington and for a U-23 Palatine Club that included former EIU standouts Diane Markus and Kendra Williamson.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was winning Best of the Midwest with the women’s league during the summer of 2004… her mother has been a major influence on her sport career because "she supports me through thick and thin"… most admires Dennis Rodman because "he’s crazy on the court and would dive for a ball even if it was impossible to get.
