Biography
EIU (2009-10): Finished her junior year with the squad’s third best stroke average... improved her previous season’s mark with an 83.1 average... notched four Top 20 finishes... with three of those in the Top 10 as well... her best meet was at the first event of the fall seasons, tying for fifth at the Western Illinois Autumn Invitational... also tied for ninth at the St. John’s Spring Fling....
EIU (2008-09): Played in six events as a sophomore... finished season with an 86.4 stroke average... included two Top 20 finishes... season-best mark was tying for 12th at the Chicago State Fall Invitational....
EIU (2007-08): Did not compete in any fall or spring events her freshman season....
HS: Earned four varsity letters in golf for coach Dan Samuilis, while also lettering in soccer while at Lockport HS... named team captain her final three years... four-time Honor Roll member....
PERSONAL: Daughter of Jerry & Carol Bernier... marketing major... her dad and papa have had the biggest influence in her golf career because “they taught me the game of golf six year ago”... ‘Vee’ enjoys watching former EIU standout Tony Romo play for the Dallas Cowboys... her advice for a younger athlete is “to come join the best sport here at EIU!”....
