2011-12 Women's Tennis Roster
Biography
2011-12: Went 10-10 as a senior in singles, including a 5-5 mark at the No. 3 spot... sported a 4-5 league mark... just 6-14 in duo action, with an even 2-2 slate at No. 3 doubles.
2010-11: Earned a team-best 8-7 overall singles record, including an even 4-4 conference tally... played mostly at the No. 4 singles lineup, but also saw some action at No. 5... went 5-8 in duos, seeing action in all three doubles spots, but mostly at No. 2 alongside Janelle Prisner and Shannon Brooks.
2009-10: Notched a 3-15 singles mark as a true freshman... saw action at the top of the lineup, but also played at No. 2 singles as well... earned a 5-11 mark in doubles, which included a 2-7 OVC record... teamed alongside Merritt Whitley for most of the season at the No. 1 duo spot.
2008-09: Amanda went 8-8 in doubles play while going 4-11 in singles... posted a 4-1 record with Haley Homburg while winning her other four matches with Abby Allgire... started the season in the team’s No. 1 singles position....
HS: Played basketball, soccer, lacrosse and tennis at Emmaus HS, earning three varsity letters in tennis... earned three team MVP awards and also captured a conference title.
PERSONAL: Majoring in biology... daughter of Brian & Dotlyn Dibbs ... credits her family, especially her older sister Liz, for having the biggest influence on her sports career, “because they never gave up on me and pushed me all the way”... her mother played tennis for UConn.
OFF THE COURT WITH AMANDA: ‘Dibbso’ choose to come to Eastern “because I really liked the girls on the team”... her own favorite personal idiom is “it happens”... her goal while at EIU is to “have a good GPA”... her black lab is named ‘Jupiter’... enjoys dancing, watching movies and snowboarding... her advice for a younger athlete is “tennis is just a game, so have fun”... doesn’t care much for peas or rice, but likes to eat pizza, french fries and cranberry sauce... her favorite t.v. show is The Office... Lincoln Hall is her favorite building on campus... since coming to EIU she has learned “how to study.”
