Biography

2009:
Saw action in 16 matches... set new assist (three vs. SEMO), ace (4 vs. EKU), block (4.0 vs. JSU), and point (14.0 vs. EKU) bests... recorded 10+ kills in three matchups, including 12 at Murray State and 10 put-aways in the two final contests versus SIUE and EKU... upped 13 attacks twice, first at UTM and again in the season-finale neutral site match against the Colonels... had five kills, with zero errors, via 15 attacks in the Panthers’ five-set win at TSU... OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2008:
Set a new personal high for kills in a three-set match versus SEMO, knocking down 13 put-aways... also had new high of 36 attempts in the same match... had no errors to record a blistering .538 attack at Eastern Kentucky, off seven kills and only 13 attempts... also tallied three assisted blocks at home against UTM... OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2007:
Competed in 21 matches and 62 games as a true freshman... thanks to her excellent ball control skills, she was able to fill-in as the squad’s starting libero at Morehead State, Eastern Kentucky and versus Samford, registering 10+ dig numbers each time... in EIU’s match at Morehead, she out-performed the Eagle’s starting libero, who was the then reigning OVC Defensive ‘Player of the Week’... had a career-high 17 ups at Eastern Kentucky. 

LINN-MART HS:
Former member of the Iowa Rockets club team where she participated in three USAV National Tournaments, during her 16s, 17s and 18s seasons... a four-year varsity letterwinner for coach Steve Meeker at Linn-Mar HS... those four letters were a first in school history... member of the track team and basketball squads... participated in the regional soccer Olympic Development Program... 2005 All-State Special Mention... All-Conference honors included First Team in 2005, Second Team in 2004 & 2006 and Honorable Mention in 2003... Two-time team MVP and three-time team Offensive ‘Player of the Year’... three-year team captain... Junior Olympic/Hershey’s 400-meter champion... earned four Cedar Rapids Gazette All-Metro honors following each of her prep seasons... also played for the CRSA soccer club, which won both indoor and outdoor state cup titles four years in a row... three-time honor roll student, academic letterwinner and student council member.

An EIU volleyball highlight... My sophomore year, our former starting libero (Shaina Boylan) came down with mono right before our match at Morehead State... coach told me that I would be going in as the starting libero... I went on to out-dig MSU’s star libero, who had just earned the OVC ‘Defensive Player of the Week’ honors... I could never have pictured that happening in a million years
Advice to a younger athlete ... “Work towards being the absolute best volleyball player you can be.”
