Biography


2011:  Saw action in nine of the ten games on the Panther slate... topped her career game highs in nearly eery statistical category, including netting five trys, two assists and 25 total points in EIU's rout of Illinois... also tied her previous high of five runs over 20-yards in that same victory... had a new mark of three assisted stops as the Panthers earned a key win over arch rival Northern Iowa... finished with a second-best point total of 90 on the season... continues to improve her career statistical numbers, including 220 all-time points, 44 trys, and 52 runs over 20-yards which notch respective 8th, 6th, and 4th place ranks.

2010: Playing in all 11 games of the season, Kayla upped or tied nearly all of her stat numbers over of the course of the year... including running in four trys as the Panthers defeated Big Ten foe Michigan, tying her previous high in both trys and points in the process... in that same win over the Wolverines, Kayla notched five runs over 20-yards, which also tied her previous high... meanwhile, she also recorded four solo stops at Purdue to set a new single-game high... already ranked in the EIU Top 15 for career points, trys, and ROTs... also listed in single-season records for trys and ROTs.

2009: Kayla competed in six games, earning four trys in the Panthers’ 103-0 rout at SIU... in that same game she ran over 20-yards five times.... 

HS: Competed in volleyball, cross country and track & field while at Midland HS in Varna... coached by Brian Cluskey... set school marks for 100 and 200 dashes, as well as in 100 and 200 relays, long jump and shot put... co-captin of track team as a senior... also member of the scholastic bowl as a member of the High Honor Roll.... 

PERSONAL: Daughter of Teryl Holocker, Kayla is majoring in kinesiology and sports studies with teacher certification... credits her grandparents for having an impact on her sports career “because they never missed a game, meet, match.. if I finish first or last, they always say they are proud of me”.... 

FUN FACTS: Chose EIU “because sports was the only thing that helped me decide, a degree is a degree, but rugby seemed like an awesome opportunity”... drives a 2000 Dodge Neon... since coming to EIU she has learned that “the rugby girls are very outgoing”... enjoys video games... she has had chickens, geese and ducks as pets... also enjoys playing volleyball and running track.
