Biography


2012:  Was a mainstay in right field as a junior, with 21 starts... also saw action at second, center field and as designated hitter... hit a career-high .273 for the season, behind 24 hits and touching home plate nine ties... drilled four doubles and earned five RBI and a .318 slug %... nailed three hits versus Louisiana Tech, which earning seven total multi-hit games... enjoyed a three-game hitting streak at one point in the year, while batting in the sixth spot for most of the season... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2011:  Saw action in 20 games, starting in starting... played mostly at right field... also saw action at second and as designated hitter... had three hits with nine runs scored... earned her first career double in a big EIU win over Columbia... earned three RBI and four total bases... walked three tiems and struck out seven... had a sac fly and three sacrifice bunts as well... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2010: In the 41 games that she played in as a true freshman, Ally started at second base 33 times... mostly batted at the ninth spot in the EIU lineup... recorded 15 hits, which included five RBI singles to finish with a .208 batting mark... crossed the home plate 15 times and went 3-for-4 in stolen bases... walked six times while also earning a sacrifice bunt four times... defensively, she helped turn three of the 15 total team double plays... assisted in 46 put-outs.

HS: Three-sport athlete at Waubonsie Valley HS... four-year letterwinner for coaches Randy Martinez and Kris Kalivas in her freshman & sophomore thru senior years, respectively... played for skipper Herm VanWeerdhuizen as a freshman on both the soccer and basketball squads... multi-award winner, including all-academic honors every year... was also named HM all-conference her senior year and unanimous league honors as a junior... two-time Beacon News All-Area as a junior and senior... four-year member of the Honor Roll... elected freshman class secretary... played for coach Joe Tholl on the Orland Park Sparks 18U club squad... member of both the 2002 and 2006 ASA Washington State Champions in 10UA and 14UA, respectively.

PERSONAL: Majoring in elementary education ... daughter of Steve & HOlly Seplak... no. 1 sports highlight came about at the 2009 ASA 18U-A Nationals in Las Vegas, “as I batted .600 during the tournament and helped the squad to a 25th national finish”... credits her dad, who was a former collegiate golfer, track & cross country athlete at Diablo Valley College (Calif), for influencing on her career, “because he supported me, whether it was coming to my games and practices, or buying me all the proper equipment... if fact, when my sister was born during the 10U state tourney, he would drive the three hours back and forth between the hospital and my games”

OFF THE FIELD WITH ALLY:  Chose EIU “because of the small, pretty campus... everyone was nice... good team & coaches... good school for education... and of course because I like the color blue”... favorite tv shows include Modern Family, Friends & Grey’s Anatomy... enjoys eating spaghetti o’s & rice... her favorite building on campus is the castle (Old Main)... her family owns a black cat named 'Spooky'... wishes she could bring a Chipotle restaurant from hometown to Charleston... recently enjoyed taking professor Don Holly’s Intro to Anthropology class... currently driving a 2007 Jeep Liberty... some of her goals while at EIU include “to have an amazing four years here by getting better each season... making tons of friends... and becoming the best third grade teacher.”
