Biography

2012:  Ended her outstanding Panther career on a high note, as she joined the United States Olympic Women's Rugby squad halfway through the fall campaign... ended up scoring 17 trys during her final year in a Panther uniform... led the squad with nine steals-at-tackle and second on the team with 14 runs over 20-yards... broke her career try mark with eight scores at Western Kentucky, which set a new Panther high for trys and points... while scampering for seven runs over 20-yards in the progress... finishes her career with the all-time best steals-at-tackle mark of 49 steals... while also ranked second in all-time points scored (564) and trys (96)... plus third for assists (51) and fourth in conversions (42).

2011:  Had another fine Panther campaign, as she led EIU in trys (20), conversions (35), points (170), runs over 20-yards (25), and steals-at-tackle (17)... had 13 single-game marks added to the Eastern record book... that included scoring 31 points as EIU won the third game of the Quinnipiac series at home, which tied for fifth best mark... her 170 points scored tied her previous mark from 2010, which ranks second-best... her 17 SAT ranks third in single-season numbers... her career numbers naturally continue to improve as she has already set a new all-time mark for SAT with 40 all-time... plus her 479 career points now ranks second-best... while her 79 trys ranks third, her 45 assists fifth, and her 78 runs over 20-yards also ranks second, respectively.

2010: Following a break-out sophomore season, Doyle was tabbed with both the Strength & Conditioning Award and earned the co-Outstanding Offensive Player Award for the second consecutive season... shared the offensive honor with newcomer Cara Hahne... playing in every game as a true sophomore, she set new EIU single-game highs in both runs over 20-yards and steals-at-tackle thanks to her seven scampers at Illinois and five steals at UW-Milwaukee... set new EIU single-season marks in several other stat categories, including running in six trys at Illinois and Missouri... while her four assists and assisted tackles versus Notre Dame and Grand Valley State, respectively, also set new personal highs as well... her 21 total steals-at-tackle launched her to the top of the single-season ranking... her 170 points scored this year also ranks as the second-best single-season mark, in addition to her 34 total trys... notched the third and fourth best runs over 20-yards and assist marks this season, respectively... already solidified her ranking for Top 10 career points, trys, assists, ROTs, and steals.

2009: Lauren had an outstanding first season as a Panther, as she picked up three prestigious year-end award -- Freshman Award, Strength & Conditioning Award and co-Outstanding Offensive Award... played in all ten games, notching at least one stat number in each of the categories, including leading all players with 25 trys, 139 points and 25 ROTs... finished with five trys in the two season finales and added seven two-point conversions in EIU’s rout of SIU... plus had 10 tackles in the home opener... has already found a home in the EIU record books for Top 15 career points, trys and runs-over-20-yards... naturally also listed in Top 15 single-season marks for the same three stat categories....

HS: Four sport letterwinner in volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track for coaches Melanie Merano, Mike Fulk and Denna Williams at Macon Meridian HS... also a member of the cheer squad... set school records for both the 200-meter run and long jump... earned all-county for track and basketball during her junior and senior seasons... member of the 1,000 point basketball club... earned High Honor Roll awards all four years....

PERSONAL: A marketing major, Lauren is the daughter of Phil & Jenneth Doyle... credits her mom for influencing her sports career, “because she is so encouraging and positive”... admires coach Richard Phillips “because he made me a better athlete and excel in everything”....

FUN FACTS: Enjoys eating chicken and rice and green beans... favorite TV show is ‘Real World’... name of her cat is ‘Waldo’, while she’d love to have her dog, ‘Coco’, a pomeranian/chuwawa mix with here while at EIU... chose to come to Eastern “because I have always admired the school since I came here my sophomore year for track”... personal goals while at EIU include “getting a good education and eventually a good job that pays well.”
