Biography
2011-12: Recorded the third best stroke average during his senior campaign... behind 22 rounds of play he earned a 75.7 average, which included a pair of Top 20 finishes... had a season-best 10th place tie at the Butler Florida Invite... tied for 24th at the end-of-season league meet... ended his Panther career with an all-time stroke average of 76.8 behind 53 rounds and 4,070 strokes.
2010-11: Ended his junior season with a 79.5 stroke average... saw action in five events, placing in the Top five once... that occured with individual runner-up honors at the Butler Florida Invitational via a 23-over-par 167... score-wise his best finish was a four-over-par 220 at the Austin Peay Fall Intercollegiate.
2009-10: Played in five meets over the course of the season, including all three fall events... ended the year tying for 29th place at both the Butler Spring Invitational and Western Illinois Invite... finished with a 78.0 stroke average for the second straight season.
2008-09: Competed in all four fall events and one spring meet during his first season as a Panther... notched a 78.0 season average, including a best score of nine-over-par at the Murray State Invitational, tying for 41st place.
HS: Earned four letters in golf and two in baseball at University HS in Normal for coach Tom Romance... earned All-Regional kudos twice... also All-Sectional and an All-State golfer... all four years that he was a member of the golf squad, Uni High won a team state championship... all-in-all, his high school won five state championship in a row... also earned the most improved award, team golden glove award and named honorable mention all-conference in baseball... valedictorian of his class... vice president while a member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Majoring in business marketing... son of Bob & Mary Dozier... greatest personal sports moment was ‘winning state my senior year and claiming all-state honors”... admires Bobby Jones, “because his love for the sport was so much stronger than wealth, which is why he never went pro... he was quoted as saying ‘once you play for money, you are no longer playing for the love of the game’... plus he started the Masters, which is my favorite sporting event.”
OFF THE LINKS WITH SEAN: Chose to come to EIU “because my brother went here and loved it, plus Eastern is the right size and good in my academic interests”... enjoys watching former EIU great Tony Romo play for the Dallas Cowboys... has a hidden talent of being able to memorize song lyrics really easily and quickly... favorite tv show is Entourage... his advice to a younger athlete is “work hard, but still enjoy and have fun playing the game”... enjoys listening to music and chilling with friends... his favorite quote is from Franklin Roosevelt -- “there’s nothing to fear, but fear itself”... since coming to EIU he has learned “how to manage my time and live on my own.”
