2013-14 ... First Team All-OVC ... three-time league honoree as she finished her career at the No. 1 singles spot... went 10-7 overall, including an even 5-5 league mark... in doubles, she teamed with junior Sephora Boulbahaiem for an impressive 12-3 record... that included a 6-2 league tally... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, with Medal of Honor accolades.
2012-13 ... First Team All-OVC ... earned back-to-back all-league honors as she recorded an 8-7 overall mark at the top of the singles lineup, going 4-5 in league action... registered an 8-4 doubles tally, including a 4-2 OVC record, when teamed with senior Merritt Whitley... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, with Medal of Honor accolades.
2011-12 ... First Team All-OVC ... led all Panthers with a 12-7 overall singles mark, including a 12-6 record at the top of the lineup... tied Merritt Whitley for best league mark at 6-3... enjoyed four match win streak a couple of times over the course of her sophomore campaign... went 13-7 in doubles as she was teamed with fellow league honoree Whitley... that included a fine 7-2 mark in OVC action... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
2010-11 ... Played at the top of the singles lineup as a true freshman... she finished with a 5-11 mark, including a 2-6 record in OVC action... earned an even 7-7 tally in doubles, where she played in every lineup spot, but mostly at No. 1 duos... teamed with Cara Huck for a 3-2 No. 1 mark... also joined Amanda Dibbs and Jennifer Kim at several points throughout the year... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, with Medal of Honor accolades.
HIGH SCHOOL ... Played tennis and basketball for coaches Angela Pertler and Mark Lasceski at St. Johns HS in Michigan... earned four letters in basketball and three for tennis... named Lansing State Journal Dream Team three times... St. Johns earned regional team championship and conference honors three times as well... three-time conference selection... team MVP all three years she was on the court... team captain... state quarterfinalist... in basketball, her squad earned conference championship while she was twice voted team MVP... also earned All-Conference kudos and named Honorable Mention for Lansing State Journal Dream Team... also a team captain in basketball.... member of the national Honors Society... finished second in the Government Essay Award.
PERSONAL ... Daughter of Jeff & Karen Prisner... No. 1 sports highlight was "getting a scholarhship to play collegiate tennis"... credits her parents for having the biggest influence on her sports career, "because they've always pushed me to become better and they have helped me get to where I am today."
OFF THE COURT WITH JANELLE ...'Nelly', 'Nel', 'Jellybean', and/or 'Lil JP', as she has become known, chose to attend EIU "because of the close campus, plus the team is nice and really close, and I was able to obtain an athletic scholarship"... feels some of EIU's advantages over other schools are "that our team is really close and really supportive for each other... we cheer each other on... plus we've got a lot of talent"... besides tennis, she also enjoys playing basketball, besides various other sports... enjoys eating lasagna and all other pasta, but doesn't care much for seafood or veggies... plus doesn't really care much for chocolate... currently riding in a 1993 Honda Accord... enjoys hanging out with family and friends, watching movies, listening to music, eating, working out, and dancing... some of her favorite tv shows include Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, Life of an American Teenager... likes watching anything with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum... her family owns a cat named 'Tiger'... since coming to EIU she has learned "how to do things on my own"... her advice to a younger tennis player would be "to work hard and never let anyone tell you that you aren't good enough"... her goals while at EIU include" winning conference and to pick a career I love doing."
