Biography
2015-16 (SENIOR): Played in four tournaments all during the fall semester... had 12 rounds with a stroke average of 79.4... season best finish was 54th at the Murray State Fall Invite... shot a season best round of 69 to open play at the Murray State Invite... posted four other rounds in the 70s... season best 54-hole total was 229 at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate... OVCÂ Academic Medal of Honor recipient
2014-15 (JUNIOR): Played 11 rounds of golf, playing in three autumn events and one spring meet... earned a third place standing with a 77.5 stroke average... twice tied for 18th place at both the SIUE and CSU fall invitationals... through three seasons as a Panther, owns a 79.1 career average behind 3,876 total strokes and 49 rounds of play... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
2013-14 (SOPHOMORE): Had a standout sophomore campaign as he paced all Panthers with a 76.4 stroke average... played in all nine events and saw 23 rounds of action... had the top individual round of golf of any Panther as he shot a 68 score in the first round of the Butler Fall Invite... nabbed four Top 20 finishes, including tying for 5th at that same Butler Fall Invite... also earned 12th and 20th place marks at the Chicago State and Butler Fall Invitationals, respectively... tied for 53rd at the end-of-season OVC meet... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
2012-13 (FRESHMAN):Â As true freshman, he saw action in seven of eight events... finished with a 84.5 stroke average over the course of 15 rounds of play... nabbed the squad's fourth best individual round of golf via his 71 score in the first round of the MSU Wasioto Winds Fall Kickoff.
HIGH SCHOOL:Â From Bloomington, Ill, but attended Tri Valley HS in nearby Downs... four-year letterwinner on his golf squad and twice lettered as a member of his prep football unit as well for coaches Bryan Corn and Jon Nelson... all-conference honoree all four years in golf, while twice nabbing conference title... he earned individual champion honors at the IHSA State event as a senior... set the school mark for 18 holes of golf... was also a three-time qualifier for the Illinois State Am.
PERSONAL:Â Majoring in kinesiology and sports studies with an exercise science concentration... son of Anthony & Jean Sproles... born on June 2... No. 1 sports highlight was "playing in three Illinois State amateur golf tournaments and winning the IHSA state golf tourney my junior of high school... also, getting to play in four AAU national basketball tournaments"... credits his dad for having the biggest influence on his sports career, "because he has been my coach since I was a little kid and he got me started with golf."
