2014-15 ... Saw action in just four matches in singles play as he competed at the top of the lineup, going 0-4... also played one doubles contest at the No. 3 spot.

2013-14 ... Split time between No. 2 and No. 3 singles as a true freshman, while also seeing some play at No. 4 and No. 6... finished his first year in a Panther uniform at 4-11 overall mark, including a 3-6 OVC-only record... went 8-3 in doubles action, including a 7-3 tally at the No. 3 spot... teamed with a trio of different players... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, with Medal of Honor accolades.

HIGH SCHOOL ... Letterwinner in tennis for coaches Kristin Finnigan and Aaron Rogers at Lake Zurich HS... earned team MVP honors.. played at No. 1 singles as a freshman, but didn't play during both his sophomore and junior campaigns... finished second in conference, third at the sectional meet, while eventually qualifying for the IHSA state finals... member of his school's Honor Roll.

PERSONAL ... Majoring in kinesiology and sports studies... son of Rich & Lesley Thompson... born on January 30... his dad played college basketball for Chicago State, while his grandpa was a former professional soccer player down in South Africa.

OFF THE COURT WITH GRANT ... Also enjoys playing basketball and badminton... while hanging out with friends, lifting weights and playing old video games in his spare time... drives a 2008 Nissan Altima... loves to eat steak and and rice, but dislikes mushrooms... favorite movie and actor are Tommy Boy and Chris Farley, respectively... his family own a Doberman named 'Doby' and 'Peanut', a Miniature Pinscher... he can't go anywhere without his phone... his advice to a younger athlete would be "to remember that hard work pays off."
