SENIOR (2014): Played in 53 games, making 48 starts… hit .290 with nine extra-base hits, 33 RBI and 27 runs… had a .361 slugging percentage and a .376 on-base percentage… also posted a .995 fielding percentage… increased his batting average to .319 in OVC action… had 13 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games… hit .344 with RISP and led the team in two-out RBI with 19… hit a grad slam on March 23 vs IPFW… earned OVC Player of the Week honors on May 5... finished his career with nine sacrifice flies, tied for the seventh most in school history… also finished his career with 73 RBI, 53 hits and 27 runs.
JUNIOR (2013): Played in 39 games, making 33 starts… posted a .300 batting average (36-for-120)… also added 23 RBI, 16 runs and seven extra-base hits… had a .400 slugging percentage and a .362 on-base percentage… increased his batting average to .313 in OVC play… also hit .333 (14-for-42) with RISP and had five, two-out RBI… had 10 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games… went 7-for-11 at the plate in a home series with Murray State on April 5-7 while adding five runs, four RBI and a triple… named to the Capital One Academic All-District® V First Team as selected by CoSIDA.
SOPHOMORE (2012): Played in 28 games, making 19 starts… missed time early in the season due to an injury… saw action at first base, second base and right field… posted a .244 batting average (21-for-86) with 13 runs, eight doubles and two doubles… hit .296 (8-for-27) with runners in scoring position and had a .438 batting average (7-for-16) when batting as the leadoff hitter… had five multi-hit games… posted a .224 batting average during conference play… drove in a season-high three runners at Murray State on May 6, going 2-for-3 at the plate while also adding two runs.
FRESHMAN (2011): Played in 36 games, making 24 starts… made starts at first base, third base and right field… batted .239 on the year with 10 runs, nine RBIs and six doubles… collected his first career hit with the Panthers in his second at bat of the year, a single against 2011 NCAA Tournament participant Southern Miss on Feb. 18… was 4-for-6 with three RBIs, two doubles and a run against Illinois College on April 13… ended the season on a five-game hit streak… also scored a run in the final four games and posted an RBI in the final three contests.
HIGH SCHOOL: Participated in football, baseball, soccer and golf at Parkway Central (Chesterfield) High School… was a two-time letterwinner in football and three-time letterwinner in baseball… selected to All-Suburban South Conference First Team in baseball (2009-10), football (2008-09) and soccer (2009)… batted a team-best .488 with 16 doubles and 36 RBIs during his junior season… also hit .438 as a sophomore… was a member of the National Honor Society and LEAD (Leadership of Educational and Athletic Discipline)… high school coach was Ryan Connors.
PERSONAL: Son of Dan and Joyce Berra… is also a member of the Panther football team, handling the kicking responsibilities… mother was a swimmer at the University of Tulsa and his brother Ryan played golf at the University of Dayton.
