2014-15 ... Swam in four individual events as a sophomore, setting three personal best times at the end-of-season league meet... also joined four different relay units, including swimming the opening and anchor legs of the 200-Free and the final leg of the 200-Medley and 400-Free units.

2013-14 ... Added his name to the EIU record books as a true freshman as he now owns the sixth best time in the 50-Free, which he set at the end-of-season Summit League meet... also set season-best times at the same league event in the 100 and 200-Free races... full-time member of the 200-Free, 200-Medley and 400-Free relay units.

HIGH SCHOOL ... Earned four letters for coaches Chris Murphy and his mom, Stacy Witzki, at Liberty HS in Missouri... he anchored all three school record races in the 200-Medley, 200-Free and 400-Free relays... earned Kansas City All-Metro honorable mention for two years in the 50-Free... earned the fastest relay split in the state of Missouri... also named honorable mention all-conference three years in a row... his squad placed in Top 5 in almost every invitational meet, including a 16th showing at the state meet his senior year... team also broke two school records.

PERSONAL ... Planning to major in physical therapy... son of Steve & Stacy Witzki... born on October 11... credits his mom for having the biggest influence on his sports career, "because she is such a strong woman"... his No. 1 sports highlight was "placing third in the 50-Free at the Missouri HS state meet... as well as achieving the fastest split time."

OUT OF THE WATER WITH SHANE ... 'Superman' chose EIU "because I loved the people, the coach and the swim team is amazing... the price is great for in-state costs and it is a qulaity education... while the team has a great bond and gets alone really well"... besides being in the pool he always enjoys basketball, football, weights, mini and regular golf, and ultimate frisbee... is able to play the guitar... driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Gallant... enjoys having with friends, going out to eat, lazer tag and sleeping... loves eating pizza, cheeseburgers, stir fry, and mozzarella sticks... but doesn't care to eat pickles... favorite movies include Remember the Titans, and both the Matrix and Batman series... favorite actors are Denzel Washington and Megan Fox... his family owns a Siamese cat... would love to switch places with Michael Phelps "right before a race day... as it'd be awesome to swim the 100-Fly at his speed"... he can't go anywhere without his cellphone... wishes he could bring his family with him to campus... his advice to a younger athlete would be "to swim smarter, not harder... don't set limitations on yourself"... favorite quote comes via Michael Jordan -- "if you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you never will change the outcome"... has several goals in mind during his time at EIU and beyond, including getting a PhD in physical therapy, earn Summit League honors in 50 and 100-Free, and earn academic recognitions."
