2007: UCA Spring Clash All-Tournament Team… She pitched in 33 games while also batting in three contests… led the team in appearances, complete games and strikeouts… was not charged with a wild pitch in 141 2/3 innings… tossed both of her complete-game shutouts (at Samford and at Austin Peay) in OVC play… limited conference hitters to a .210 batting average, good for fourth best in the league… averaged a team-best 6.47 strikeouts per game… opposing hitters batted just .182 against her at Williams Field… went 4-1 with 35 strikeouts in six February appearances… in 50 1/3 innings in April, recorded 56 strikeouts and limited opposing hitters to a .159 batting average… struck out seven in her one-hit, complete-game shutout at Austin Peay… pitched a career-high nine innings, surrendering just three hits and striking out eight, in the extra-inning loss to Illinois… struck out a season-high nine through only 5 2/3 innings in the second win over Alabama A&M… led EIU to its first OVC win of the season with a four-hit shutout at Samford… allowed just one earned run and struck out eight in second meeting against eventual Missouri Valley Conference champion Creighton… fanned 47 over a seven-appearance stretch in late April… did not allow a run through 8 2/3 innings of doubleheader action against Morehead State… struck out eight of the 14 batters she faced in relief appearance at Bradley… Top 10 OVC Rankings: seventh in batting average against, eighth in strikeouts, ninth in appearances and 10th in innings pitched… EIU Single-Season Rankings: sixth in saves, seventh in strikeouts, eighth in appearances.
2006: Second Team All-OVC and OVC All-Newcomer Team Selection… OVC Pitcher of the Week (March 21)… Holiday Inn Select-Tulsa Festival All-Tournament Team… broke EIU freshman records for wins, innings pitched, appearances and games started… pitched in more games than any pitcher in EIU history… posted just the fourth 20-win season in program history and first since 1988… won six straight decisions during the late-season, nine-game winning streak… was the winning pitcher in all three games of the Austin Peay sweep… also earned the victory in both games of a doubleheader sweep of Eastern Kentucky… proved she could hit too, batting .318 in OVC play… early in the season she won 10 straight decisions – as well as seven starts in a row – and tossed nine consecutive complete games… was nearly unhittable at home, posting a 9-2 record and 0.80 ERA at Williams Field… both home losses came at the hands of regular-season and tourney champion Tennessee Tech… compiled a 9-1 record and 1.82 ERA in the month of March… blanked Samford in games one and three of the EIU sweep… extended her consecutive scoreless innings streak to 25 2/3 following that weekend against the Bulldogs… did not allow an earned run while striking out a career-high 10 in the season-opener at Louisiana-Monroe… tossed a two-hit, complete-game shutout in her second career OVC start (at UT Martin)… also blanked Saint Louis, Columbia, IUPUI and Austin Peay… posted all four of her multi-hit games in OVC play… practically single-handedly propelled EIU to a rubber game victory at Tennessee State, pitching 5 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while driving in the game-tying run in the seventh with her first career double and scoring the game-winning run in the 10th… had two hits and an RBI in the OVC Tournament berth-clinching victory over Southeast Missouri… OVC Rankings: second in wins, innings pitched and appearances; third in games started, complete games and saves; fifth in shutouts; and seventh in batting average against… EIU Single-Season Rankings: first in appearances, second in games started, third in victories and innings pitched, fifth in strikeouts, sixth in shutouts, seventh in complete games, and eighth in saves.
HIGH SCHOOL: Kathleen lettered for coach Kerri Evans… also lettered in basketball… senior-year honors included: Star Newspapers Player of the Year; Chicago Tribune All-State; and Daily Southtown, Illinois Times and Chicago Sun-Times All-Area… two-time All-East Suburban Catholic Conference… junior year honored first team all-area by the Illinois Times and Star Newspapers… honorable mention by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Economist… MCHS was a two-time ESCC champion… also played for the Oak Park Windmills summer league team.
PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was the Chicago White Sox winning the 2005 World Series… coach Haacker, who passed away prior to her junior year, had a major influence on her sports career because "he loved softball so much. I admired his passion for the game and carry it with me everyday"… most admires her parents because "they tell me everyday hard work and disciple will get you somewhere"… her grandfather Chester played in the White Sox organization and her uncle Chuck was an All-American football player at Indiana University… her sister Liz played softball at Illinois-Chicago and is currently an graduate assistant in the marketing department of EIU athletics... daughter of Daniel and Patricia Jacoby… MAJOR: Political Science.
