Biography
2016-17 (SENIOR) ... Had one of her best seasons at EIU finishing the year 10-12 overall in singles play splitting time between the No. 4 and No. 5 spots... went 3-6 in OVC singles play... partnered with both Abby Carpenter and Kamile Stadalninkaite going 1-2 in doubles play... recorded her only doubles win of the year sweeping her Saint Francis opponents 6-0.
2015-16 (JUNIOR) ... Won her sole singles match of the season during the Panthers' 7-0 sweep of Butler, winning in three sets at the No. 6 position.
2014-15 (SOPHOMORE) ... Saw limited action on the court finishing the season with an overall record of 1-3 in singles play... Played each of her four matches in the No. 6 position... shut out her Western Illinois opponent in straight sets to earn her only win on the season.
2013-14 (FRESHMAN) ... Saw limited action as a freshman going 1-2 overall in singles-only play... that included an even 1-1 at the No. 5 spot in the lineup, while also picking up a loss at No. 6... earned a victory over TSU opponent to pick up an OVC win at the No. 5 spot.
HIGH SCHOOL ... An international student, Maria played tennis for coach Lyudmil Nakashev at the High School of Foreign Languages in Sofia, Bulgaria.
